Summary
Wisconsin Women’s Business Initiative Corporation (WWBIC) has exclusively retained The QTI Group to lead the search for a Chief Financial Officer. The CFO serves as a member of the executive senior leadership team and is responsible for all aspects of WWBIC’s financial and accounting operations, human resources, and information management functions.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Actively participate in WWBIC’s senior management team to provide leadership to the organization. Work collaboratively with the President/Chief Visionary Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Chief Lending Officer, and other leadership to set and support agency direction and consistent policies and procedures.
- Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate fiscal functions, including strategic and day-to-day oversight of financial operations, including establishing financial policies, procedures, controls, and reporting systems.
- Assure timely and accurate analysis of budgets and financial reports to assist the President/CVO, Board, and leadership in managing their corporate responsibilities.
- Ensure timely financial reporting for lending, grant, and contract compliance.
- Set priorities, goals, and direction; support, guide, direct, encourage, and develop team members. Supervise and coach staff (paid, consultant, volunteer) with positive influence to achieve results that are in the best interest of the organization, including hiring process, employee feedback/reviews, team coordination, educational opportunities, access for employee questions/concerns, budgeting input, and HR documentation.
- Co-manage IT / Cybersecurity Committee of the Board with the Chief Credit Officer.
- Manage strategies with the support of information technology staff to ensure current and future information technology needs are met.
- Enhance, develop, implement, and enforce policies of the organization by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness.
- Manage the activity of WWBIC Audit and Finance Committee.
- Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Board as an effective problem solver; be viewed as approachable and as a mentor to people in financial, technical, and operational issues.
- Maintain related vendor and banking relationships.
- Oversee timely coordination of all audits.
- Maintain expertise in accounting and tax issues for both tax-exempt as well as CDFI issues. Guide and educate staff on compliance issues.
- Behave ethically and understand ethical behavior and business practices. Ensure your own behavior and the behavior of others are consistent with these standards and align with the values of the organization.
- Represent and/or speak on behalf of WWBIC at community and/or professional functions, which may include expos, collaborations, conferences, and meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
- A minimum of seven to ten years of experience as a CFO, Vice President of Finance, or equivalent senior financial leadership role.
- Experience with SBA lending and CDFIs is preferred.
- Experience working with multiple funds, financial statements, budgets, cash management, and information technology in a complex non-profit with a variety of funding sources in a highly regulated environment is required.
- Must possess a strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
- Experience with MIP Accounting software and Loan software preferred.
- Requires strong organizational, analytical, reasoning, and communication skills.
- Strong ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse internal and external colleagues in a fast-paced team environment is necessary.
